Last night around 11:30PM, the power went out for the second time. It was pitch black, so I thought it’d make an excellent time to record a video showing what it’s like when the power goes out. I grab my headlamp to provide some illumination, and I start recording. I turn the light on, explain to the camera that the power had just gone out, then turn the headlamp off and point the camera around the room to show that things really are pitch black, you can’t see anything.

I point the camera back at myself and turn the headlamp on and start talking once again. Out of the corner of my eye, I see a face looking right at me. The headlamp is shining right in my face, so I can’t see clearly — I’m half blind at this point, and I’ve lost all my night vision. Regardless, I still see a face looking right at me from the corner of the bedroom. I’m sure. I’ve been watching it for what felt like minutes by now: it’s definitely a face, and it’s looking in my direction, completely motionless. I freeze. I stop talk talking. I’m still looking straight at the camera, not wanting to do any sudden movements that might alert who was ever in my room. I decide I’ll quickly turn the light and maybe blind the person while getting a good look at who they are.
I keep talking to the camera for a few seconds to keep the illusion that I don’t know they are there (although to be honest, I don’t think any words were actually coming out of my mouth). I count in my head, “three…two…one” and whip the headlamp around and take a big step forward. There’s no one there. Puzzled, I walk to the corner of the room, slowly moving to see around the large closet that perhaps this person could be hiding behind. Nobody.
I went back to the area I was standing while making the video, and look in the same direction once more, immediately figuring out what it was: I had left the lens cap off the lens that was attached to my camera, and it was sitting on a tripod pointing in the exact direction I was standing: I was scared of my own reflection.
That’s all for now.

That’s soooo freaky!! But I’m glad you figured out who the face belonged to
